Team Indonesia has officially emerged as the tournament champion of the ASEAN Moot 2026. The rigorous two-day legal advocacy competition concluded on July 22, 2026, in Bangkok. The event was convened by the ASEAN Law Association (ALA) Thailand alongside the Office of the Judiciary.

Tournament Structure and Overview

Held from July 21–22, 2026, the premier competition brought together seven distinguished student delegations representing member jurisdictions of the ASEAN Law Association: Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The tournament featured an intensive, multi-phase knock-out format. The Preliminary Round spanned 14 round-robin matches at the Court of Justice Building (Criminal Court), featuring direct head-to-head match-ups across all seven participating nations. The top four teams — Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam — advanced to the Semi-Finals. In the Grand Final, Malaysia (Claimant) faced Indonesia (Respondent) in the Grand Ballroom of the InterContinental Bangkok, where Indonesia ultimately secured the championship title.

Following the conclusion of the intensive rounds on July 22, all student mooters were presented with official participation certificates by Mr Thiratai Chareonwong, Secretary-General of the Office of the Judiciary of Thailand.

The major competitive tournament accolades were presented to the winners by Chief Justice Adisak Tantiwong, President of the Supreme Court of Thailand and Chair of ALA Thailand, during the high-profile ALA-CACJ Gala Dinner on July 23, 2026, at the InterContinental Bangkok.

The event was organized by ALA Thailand and the Office of the Judiciary, with specialized system development support provided by the Thai Arbitration Institute (TAI). Key institutional supporters included the Council of ASEAN Chief Justices (CACJ) and the Court of Justice, Thailand.

The tournament was further backed by a coalition of leading regional legal sponsor firms, including Tilleke & Gibbins, Weerawong, Chinnavat & Partners, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, Baker McKenzie, Watson Farley & Williams, and Rajah & Tann Thailand.
